How Play?

Interlocking Discs

  • Offer the disc with another teether or grasping toy and allow them to choose. This promotes the ability to choose and leads to Independence. 
  • During tummy time, place the toy a little away to encourage the child to make some effort to grasp it. Do not place it far away and frustrate a child who is not ready to move. 
  • When the child is slithering or crawling gently roll the disc, the child will move and grasp, this aids the Gross Motor development. Ensure the discs are always attached before offering it to the baby. 
  • Age 3M+ 

Hexagon Rattle 

  • The adult can introduce the rattle in the environment from birth, by rattling when the baby is awake and active. 
  • The rattle however, should be offered to the baby only when their grasping becomes voluntary. 
  • Offer two choices of rattle to the child and allow them to choose one. Put the other away. 
  • Place the rattle in front of the child to encourage the child to reach out. It should not be too far away thus frustrating the child. 
  • You can also hang the rattle in a floor gym and encourage the child to bat or grasp. Babies enjoy the auditory feedback.

Wobble Toy

  • The toy should be placed in front of the child as they are lying on their tummy. Place your palm on the toy and push it slowly and gently towards the floor. Repeat the action 2 or 3 times for the child to observe and offer the toy to the child. Let them explore
